Is there a crisis in education? Problems with praise

In his upcoming lecture at UVic on April 25 at 7pm, Dr. Steve Hughes examines the basic assumptions of the standard model of education, and shows how an entirely different framework conforms to what we now know about optimizing social, emotional, cognitive development, and academic development.

Steven J. Hughes, PhD, ABPdN is Director of The Center for Research on Developmental Education, Chair of the Association Montessori Internationale Global Research Committee and is a member of the faculty at the Maria Montessori Institute in London.

Dr. Hughes joins me to discuss what he believes are the problems with the current education system and the consequences of too much praise. Interested in having your say? Join the conversation! Call in during the show: 250-386-1161.
