Tune in or stream live this Saturday, May 17 to the Real Parenting radio show on CFAX 1070 at 4pm PT/ 7pm ET.

Parenting a child with allergies

Learning your child has a life threatening allergy can be scary and devastating. There’s so much to know! We have covered this topic in a variety of ways over the last 3 1/2 years on Real Parenting and for this weekend’s show, I welcome mom Alex Durrell to talk about her personal experience navigating allergies with her son.

Alex Durrell writes the allergy blog, “Irritated by Allergies” at YummyMummyClub.ca. She’s a mom to two kids, one with life-threatening food allergies. Tune in to hear how she discovered her child had an allergy, the steps she took with doctors and her son’s school and advice she has for other parents. We’ll also get her reaction to the comment, “If a peanut can kill you, maybe you’re meant to die.”

Summer Camp Spotlight

Now is the time to make plans for your children’s summer camps and we are spotlighting different ones across Greater Victoria all month. Tune in at 4:30 to learn about the upcoming Summer Camps at Lizzy Lee & Me, EcoQuest Kids, Sportball and the Victoria Conservatory of Music.

Have a question or comment about your experience with allergies? Call in during the show: 250-386-1161.
