Mother’s Day: Mom Panel + A dad’s view on making it meaningful + Motherless Moms

Mother’s Day is here again! I’ve planned a busy show to celebrate! Joining me in the studio will be a panel of moms to chat about Motherhood, what Mother’s Day means (or doesn’t mean) to them and how they celebrate. We’ll also chat about the reality of Motherless moms and how some mark this special day. Plus, we’ll be joined by a dad to get his view on how kids, young and old, could be making Mother’s Day a little more meaningful.

Listen in for your chance to win an Afternoon Tea for Two at the Fairmont Empress, fitness classes with Hot Mama Health & Fitness and more!

Meet the guests!

Allison Gilbert is the author of Parentless Parents: How the Loss of Our Mothers and Fathers Impacts the Way We Raise Our Children. She is the founder of the Parentless Parents community, is a regular contributor for the Huffington Post and an Emmy award winning television news producer.

Colleen Bezeau joins me for the Mom Panel. She is a mom and owner of the online boutique New & Green Baby Company. She has a strong commitment and desire to reach out to families and help make cloth diapering accessible to parents.

Lyra McLean is a mom to two boys and co-owner of Victoria’s newest shop for new parents, Momease Baby Boutique at Mattick’s Farm. With a special focus placed on modern, innovative and functional baby gear and accessories, Momease Baby Boutique offers a wide range of parenting products for active families. I look forward to welcoming Lyra to the Mom Panel!

Lindsay Goulet is the founder of Hot Mama Health & Fitness which offers family-friendly fitness programs to Greater Victoria. A firm believer in “Monkey see-Monkey do,” she believes the best way to ensure your child grows up to lead a healthy, fit life is to first lead by example.

Todd Patkin is the author of Finding Happiness: One Man’s Quest to Beat Depression and Anxiety and—Finally—Let the Sunshine In and has a tips for making Mother’s Day meaningful.

“All too often,” Patkin says, “it’s our closest relationships—the ones into which we should be putting the most sincere and consistent work—that we allow to run on autopilot. Mother’s Day is the perfect time to reassess the place your own mother holds in your life, and hopefully, to consciously strengthen your bond.”

Tune in or stream live to CFAX 1070 this Saturday, May 11 at 12pm. Want to share your thoughts or stories about Mother’s Day? Call in 250-386-1161 during the show!
