To celebrate Father’s Day, I welcome three fantastic fathers to Real Parenting for a Dad panel. Dave Dickson, Dean Murdock and James DeGreef join me to discuss what inspires them as Dads. What values are important for them to share with their kids? What have they learned since becoming Fathers? What do they love about Fatherhood and what scares the cr@p out of them?
Dean Murdock is a two term Saanich Councillor, first elected in 2008 and re-elected in 2011. Dean and his wife are long time Saanich residents and have two children- two year old Caelum and 2 month old daughter, Avery.
Dean chairs the Healthy Saanich Committee and is Vice Chair of the CRD Water Supply Commission. He is the former chair of Sierra Club Victoria and former Vice President of the Quadra Cedar Hill Community Association. He currently works as the Manager of Public Health Planning with the British Columbia Ministry of Health.
Dave Dickson is host of the afternoon show on CFAX 1070, weekdays from 1-3pm. He is father to a daughter who will be 3 this summer and is expecting twins with his wife!
Dave’s other passions include golf, beer league hockey, snowboarding and generally any sports. He loves engaging with with people in the community who have interesting stories and important issues to share.
Once a “Clueless Dad” now on his way to becoming a “Super Dad,” James DeGreef is a father of two and husband of one. James is the CEO and co-founder of social media web property ChatterBlock.com which supports parents and families in the community. James is a lover of reading, skiing, and teaching his daughter Annika how to play the drums.
