Autism advocacy, education and support

Lori Brienesse-Frank is a mom of a child with autism. This has led her to work in the field and become a board member with the Victoria Society for Children with Autism.

This organization provides support, advocacy and education for families who have a child with autism.  Recognizing the difficulty in researching all that is available in the Greater Victoria area, VSCA is presenting the Greater Victoria Autism Resource Fair, March 5, to aid in bringing parents and service providers together.

Creating a Family Based on Mutual Respect

Ilene Val-Essen, Ph.D., is a leader in the field of parent education. Her book, Bring Out the Best in Your Child and Your Self: Creating a Family Based on Mutual Respect, offers parents tools to help their children and teens become the cooperative, independent and responsible young people they truly want to be. Dr. Val-Essen developed the Quality Parenting program, which has been taught in the US and abroad and translated into Swedish, Spanish and Dutch. She has been in private practice as a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California for more than thirty years.

Join me and my guests this Saturday, February 26 from 10-11am PST on CFAX 1070 where the show also streams live.
