Tune in or stream live to the Real Parenting radio show on CFAX 1070 this Saturday, August 2 at 4pm.

So your teen wants to go vegetarian?

Maybe it’s a shock. Maybe it’s a delight. But in either case, if your teen decides to become a vegetarian, you’ll want to know how can you support him or her in this new lifestyle.

Tune in to my discussion with author Vesanto Melina, co-author (along with fellow BC dietitian Brenda Davis) of books that are classics on plant-based nutrition and foods. Her latest is the award winning Becoming Vegan: Express Edition, which has chapters on vegan nutrition during pregnancy, lactation, and through the growing years through adolescence.

KinderSpiel

Join me and my guest Sandra Baxter as she tells us about Victoria’s newest children’s activity centre and educational toy store. Sandra’s store, KinderSpiel was inspired by her childhood in Germany which included quality, educational toys that lasted and were passed on through several generations.

Tune in to hear more about the toys she brings in and the parenting workshops she will be hosting.

Touch-A-Truck

We’ll also find out more about a fun event coming up on Aug. 9 at Western Speedway. Touch-A-Truck will feature big trucks of all kinds, from construction machinery to emergency vehicles to big rigs, and will offers kids (and curious parents!) a terrific opportunity to explore them and meet the drivers. Rena Laberge from the Southern Vancouver Island Family Childcare Association joins us to discuss the event and how her organization benefits.

Find out more about Touch-A-Truck and more on Real Parenting, Saturday Aug. 2 from 4-5pm.
