What to consider if you’re considering University

What is the best way to prepare students for post-secondary studies and work? What is the parents’ role once children leave high school? Is the “entitlement generation” a fair label for young people? I’ll discuss these questions and more with my guest Ken S. Coates, co-author of What to consider if you’re considering University.

Your child’s vision health check list

Did you know that one in five children has a vision disorder? Identifying eye health issues at a young age is critical and can affect a child’s academic and social development.

May is vision health month and Optometrist Dr. Brian Joslin will join me to discuss the common vision issues that are found in kids and what a typical eye exam is like for youth. We’ll go through a checklist of healthy actions parents can take with their families for optimal vision health.

Summer Camp Spotlight

Throughout the month of May we have been spotlighting some interesting summer camps around Greater Victoria. This week I’m chatting with Breeanna McDonald, Regional Humane Education Coordinator with the BC SPCA. Tune in to hear about the popular weekly summer camps for kids available at the SPCA!
