Podcast: Dr. Shanker explains importance of Self-regulation in kids

Dr. Shanker is one of the key speakers at the upcoming Vancouver Island Parent Conference Feb 11th at Spectrum Community School. He is a Distinguished Research Professor of Philosophy and Psychology at York University. He serves as Director of Milton and Ethel Harris Research Intitiative at York University, Co-Director of the Council for Human Development and President of the Council for Early Child Development.

Dr. Shanker recently joined me on Real Parenting radio to explain what self-regulation is in children and how that can effect their academic future & livelihood.  Broken down into physiological, emotional, cognitive and social levels, Dr. Shanker shares how parents & educators can influence a child’s ability to self-regulate.
