Podcast: Infertility Awareness

Infertility Awareness Week was May 15-22, 2011, so Real Parenting welcomed a panel of guests specializing in helping women and men suffering with infertility.

Stephanie Curran graduated from the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Vancouver in 2000 with a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine Diploma. Since founding the Elements of Health Centre in 2006, she has devoted much of her practice to treating womens health issues such as reproductive and pregnancy conditions. Stephanie obtained her fellowship with the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine and is one of only eight Canadians holding this designation.

Dr. Natasha MontroyDr. Natasha Montroy, ND is a Naturopathic Physician and the Clinical Director of the Vancouver Island Naturopathic Clinic Inc. She has worked with patients struggling with the challenges of fertility for the past six years and has helped numerous couples achieve pregnancy both naturally or by offering supportive care in conjunction with assisted reproductive therapies including IUI, IVF or ICSI. She utilizes a combination of clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, acupuncture, vitamin supplementation and/ or detoxification. Dr. Montroy is one of the co-founding members of “Conceive the Dream”, Victoria’s yearly Infertility Awareness Event.

Areli Hermanson is a Registered Dietitian and has been practicing since 1999. She is the owner of Eat it Up! Nutrition Counselling and offers one to one nutritition counselling and lifestyle coaching. Areli’s own fertility journey fueled her passion for working with women with fertility issues as they work toward their family goals.
